The Home Page can be accessed from any screen in the MIP by selecting “Home.” To use the MIP workflow, click on “Log in.” The next screen that appears will prompt you for a user name and password.

  3. Login Screen INTRODUCTION Login Screen The screen on the right is the MIP Login Screen. Type your user name and password exactly as it is provided to you. For security purposes, 3 incorrect passwords entered within a 24-hour period will lock out the account. If this occurs, contact MIPHelp. To exit the Login Screen, click on “Home.” Contact MIPHelp at miphelp@mapmodteam.com or call 1-877-FEMA-MAP (1-877-336-2627), select option 2, to sign up for an account or to verify your account information.

  4. Authenticated User Home Page INTRODUCTION Authenticated User Home Page The screen on the right is the Authenticated User Home Page. After successfully logging into the MIP, you can access your Workbench using the Workbench tab. New Functionality in MIP Release 3: Some authenticated users will have access to the Process Admin tab. The Process Admin function allows certain authenticated users (users with Project Administration and Process Administration roles) to perform updates to Project Status (i.e. changes to baseline cost and schedule, organization/area changes). This authenticated user also can change the Project Status if the Study project needs to be put on hold or withdrawn.

  5. Workbench INTRODUCTION Workbench The Workbench provides access to the Work Items, Project Dashboard, Reports & Form Letters, Search & Retrieve Data, and Create Project tabs. To create a new Study project, select the “Create Project” tab. Only users with a Study Project Administrator role can create new projects. (Refer to the Create Project module for details.) New Functionality in MIP Release 3:The Search & Retrieve Data tab can be found under Tools & Links, Map Viewer, and Workbench. Search & Retrieve functionality provides the ability to search for data by non-spatial and spatial methods (using filter criteria and/or a map), provided the data has been validated and stored/registered.

  6. Work Item List INTRODUCTION Work Item List The Work Item List provides a list of all “tasks” assigned to a registered user. A “task” is an activity that may be claimed by a user. Tasks are assigned by role, organization, and geography based on the user registration list. To claim a task, select the “Claim” button. Then, to begin working on a task, select the “Item Name” to bring up the applicable screens for that claimed task. More than one user may receive the same task on his/her Work Item List. Once a user claims the task it will be removed from all of the other user’s Work Item List. Also, once the task is complete it will be removed from that user’s Work Item List.

  7. Online Help INTRODUCTION Online Help In addition to this web-based course, Online Help is also available throughout the MIP (on nearly every screen) by clicking on the “help” button. Online Help will assist users by providing details about the current screen (i.e. Goals, Hints, and Navigation procedures). The screen on the right shows an example of Online Help content. Online Help This concludes the Introduction module of the “MIP Release 3 Study Workflow Training” web-based course. Please proceed to the next module in the course, Create Project.
