  1. The History of Graffiti Removal Removal of public graffiti can be dated back to the Greek and Roman empires. The graffiti was carved into the walls, depicting disrespectful slogans and messages. Thus, they needed to be removed. For that reason, the ancient authorities come up with a means of removing the graffiti. Since graffiti comes in different forms, tools and ways of removing have been devised to keep up. Hence removing graffiti has evolved with the kind of graffiti seen in the street. Also, removal procedures have lead people to discover means of preventing graffiti on their walls as well. For many years now, graffiti has been considered vandalism and thus a crime that is punishable by law. Surprisingly, many individuals still practice graffiti and so they are breaking the law. Furthermore, graffiti can range from carving to painting, and in that case removal methods have changed. Below are some of the methods of removing graffiti people have used over the time. Firstly, you should understand that the method used to clear up graffiti largely depends on: The surface on which the graffiti is on The kind of graffiti used (carved or painted) Depending on the above factors, removal of graffiti over time has developed in the following ways: Brushing and Scrubbing Graffiti will be removed by scrubbing the surface with a tough brush. Additionally, this method was used on curved surfaces. Hence, they required tough tools to clear off the graffiti on the surface. Paint Painting on top of the graffiti is the simplest way that people can use. Moreover, it is the cheapest of the methods. The only disadvantage to this method of removing graffiti is that it best works on painted surfaces. Chemical Method This is the most resent method of clearing graffiti from surfaces. It is a chemical compound that dissolves and removes the graffiti. With this in mind, it is recommended to have more information about the surface to prevent corrosion. Washing Although most of the graffiti will be resistant to water, others are water colors that can be washed away.

  2. For many years now, removing graffiti on unwanted places have been a struggle between the authority/government and the painters/artists. For that reason, people have formed companies that deal with removal of graffiti. Conclusion Graffiti art has evolved over the years, so has the removal techniques. For that reason, the authorities of many urban cities have been developing new means of controlling and removing the graffiti. Hence many products and tools have been developed to help in the removal of graffiti. In conclusion the fight against graffiti will continue as long as both parties involved do not agree with each other.
