  1. History of Zgierz Zgierz - a town and municipality in the Lodz region, in the county of Zgierz. The origin of the name”Zgierz” isn't known In old documents, the city was called Zguyr, Sguir, Segey and Shegrz. In the years 1975-1998 the town administratively belonged to the province of Łódź. Zgierz received the city rights before 1318 and is one of the oldest cities in the region. Zgierz is the seventy seventh city in the country in terms of population (58.164 people) and ninety-eighth in terms of area (42.33 km ²).

  4. It was built in the years 1974-1981. The primary purpose was the artificial ice rink, which functioned until 1991. The mass of the building is in the shape of an arc on a rectangular plan with 72 x 60 m dimesions is spectacular.There are small arcs for cataring.on the west and east of the main hall.The engine is on the ground floor.   5. Church of St. Catherine • Parish Church of St. Catherine of Alexandria in Zgierz City, built between 1910-1924.

  6. Chourch of St.Christ the King Roman Catholic Church was built in 1908 as a house of prayer for Mariavites in Zgierz and served them for 40 years. Since 1947 it served as a military church. Since 1949 the church became a parish of MB of Good Counsel in Zgierz. In 1968 the rectory of the church was organized with a separate area of pastoral work, since 1974 it was a parish church again.

  7. Kilińskiego Square At first it was a market which served the citizens and local farmers for 100 years.The new shape with trees and flower beds was designed by a botanist A. Ciszkiewicz in 1920. In 1931 the name was changed into Kilińskiego Square. Now it has a modern tram stop and other facilities.

  9. City Park City Park - a beautiful green oasis in the industrial area between Piątkowska Street and Barlickiego Street.

  10. Weavers' Houses Dozens of buildings in the center of Zgierz are historic buildings. They are in the register of monuments. The famous wooden weavers' houses were built in the second half of nineteenth century as a part of the old city.
