Short-Term Involvements • Join a Knowledge Community (KC) • Post and monitor postings on KC websites • Research and write on specific KC themes • Write a brief article for Net Results • Attend or volunteer at a drive-in workshop • Attend a Metro Meeting • Volunteer at a state/regional/national conference • Serve as a conference program reviewer • Present at a workshop, drive-in or conference • Be a listener for the Panel of Listeners (women)

Deeper Involvements • Volunteer to assume a leadership role in your state • Volunteer to manage the website for your state • Host a drive-in workshop or Metro Meeting • Research and write for NASPA publications • Chair a state or regional conference committee • Host and mentor a NASPA Undergraduate Fellow • Nominate yourself for The Placement Exchange • Nominate yourself for KC regional representative • Nominate yourself for “State Director” • Nominate yourself for other Region III board positions • Nominate yourself for national leadership roles

Graduate Students? • Graduate Program Directory • Provides method to search for grad programs by a variety of criteria , i.e. location, size, setting, degrees, programs, etc. • Summer Graduate Internship Program • Spring/Summer 2013 – provide support and work collaboratively with all of the NASPA staff and departments in Washington, D.C. • Study Abroad Program Directory • Provides links to different study abroad opportunities provided by institutions across the nation • The Placement Exchange • Partners with ACUHO-I, NACA, NODA, ASCA, AFA to help candidates connect with institutions to find that perfect job

Knowledge Communities • “Gateways to the profession and connection to the association” • Provide an opportunity for NASPA members to access information and resources in a specific subject matter that pertains to the student affairs profession • Mission: Gather and generate information in a specific interest area; discuss the information; look for examples of practicing the information; and critique, evaluate, and make some judgment about the worthiness of findings before disseminating findings as knowledge.

  21. Divisions and Groups NASPA is organized to provide leadership and innovation on a range of critical issues affecting student affairs and higher education. To address these critical issues, NASPA has created a series of national Centers, Divisions, and Academies that provide programs, services, and resources to promote excellence in higher education.
