  2. Look Around!!! • Chances are, you have a library, so go read a book if your interested in literature. Libraries also have movies that you can borrow as well, for free!!! • Take a trip to a gallery or a museum, you can learn a lot, and unlike college or private schools, you don’t have to pay anything. • Take a hike or go biking, this not only get you in shape, but also wastes a lot of time. The only expenses here are your bike (or new shoes), food and water.

  3. College!!! • Just because you’re here, doesn’t mean that all you have to do is study, there are opportunities for fun. • Go to your college’s sport events, more likely than not, they are free to the students. • If you live in a dorm, consider having a game night. There is always that one friend who has all the latest games and consoles. After goading them with some free food and multiplayer action, you’ll have an intense Call of duty or battlefield experience with no cost to you! (besides the food) • Coupons FTW! Cut out ones that you like and put them in your wallet for good deals at shops, restaurants and services like hair cuts.

  4. At home… • Play board games with family and friends. As ancient as they may seem, Board games are, usually, readily available in all houses. You can waste a lot of time playing risk or monopoly. • If your parents kept them, try playing with your old lego blocks. Throw away the instruction booklet and uses your creativity. Build a new base, car or something completely random! Legos are a good way to spend a boring afternoon and make you think. • Have a movie night. Instead of wasting $10 per person to see a movie, just wait until the movie comes out to rent. Besides, you’ll have something to look forward to for the next six weeks.

  5. Pick me!! • Volunteering not only makes you feel good, but also can be beneficial to the environment or a certain aid organization. • Volunteer events are free, and sometimes they might throw in something extra. This could be a free meal or a discount of some kind (i.e. help fix up part of the zoo, and you get a free pass next time.) • Participating in these events can lead to new friends, and who doesn’t like to make more friends?

  6. For Geeks on a budget… • Go to gamestop. You can turn in old games for credit or cash, as well as get games for reasonable prices in their bargain bin. • Hand-me-down laptops are a great way to get a lot of power without having to spend a lot of cash. • Just like movies, waiting a while after a game has come out can be more gratifying for you and your wallet.

  7. Be practical… • Yes, you may want to see a movie right now that is at a theater that offers great prices, however, you should not wait until nighttime. Tickets for movies and plays are much cheaper during the day. • Check the newspaper. There maybe a special deal at the place that is you are going to, like two for one or half off specials. • check before you act… you might kick yourself later if you find that you could have saved some money if you had just looked for that coupon for 75% off all shirts.

  8. Outdoor activities… • Whenever going to an outdoor activity like sport event or outdoor performance, take your own food. Buying food from a nearby restaurant or at the stadium can be potentially costly. • They make you move! Whether you are walking, hiking or just goofing off, your making your body and immune system stronger. • Nearly any outdoor activity you can think of is free.

  9. Get friends! • Doing things alone can be a drag… so get friends! They are the greatest part of your life. • Nothing beats a potluck feast, followed by card games and then by a super smash brothers tournament. • If you’re a loner, there’s nothing to benefit from just sitting by yourself and reading books all day (though that is cheap), having friends can be fun and cheap too! (the cost, not the experience).
