  5. Location • Between Waverly and Seaspray, at the terminal groin, and 12th Street • Sand is to be placed from North to South

  6. Scope of Work • 660,000 cubic yards of compatible sand • To be dredged from ebb tidal shoal of the Great Egg Harbor Inlet, approximately 5000 feet offshore • Potential to pump nearly 35,000 cubic yards of sand per day • 600 - 700 linear feet per day

  8. Design • Beach berm at a Fixed elevation of +6.5 feet NAVD88. • Berm width varies with location • Pumped to a offshore slope of 30:1 with a 20:1 toe slope

  9. Financial • Total cost of Project is $6,050,000 • Cost Share: • 75% State = $4,537,500 • 25% Municipality = $1,512,500 • Option = $690,000

  10. Great Lakes Dredge and Dock Company • Dredge ILLINOIS • 30 inch discharge diameter • Capable of pumping 2500 cubic yards of sand 25,000 feet per hour

  11. Schedule • 90 Day contract time • Mobilized second week of April • Begin pumping second week of May • End pumping second week of June • Demobilize third week of June

  12. What To Expect • Pipeline on the beach • Closing of a minimum 1000 foot sections of beach • Provide public safety and adequate staging • 24 hour operation with continuous State inspection • Structure Monitoring • Contractor will set up vibration monitors adjacent to structures

  13. Environmental Concerns • Piping Plover • Current conditions not favorable for plover habitat but they have historically used the area • Shipwrecks • Known Cultural Resources Outside of Project Area • Munitions/Debris • Double Screening • At Cutterhead • At Discharge Pipe
