SBA Office of Advocacy • Office of Advocacy’s Regulatory review and Reform (r3) • Designed to identify and address existing federal regulation and determine their effectiveness, duplication, or obsolete. • Tool for small business stakeholder to suggest reform. • Process for reform: Describe current rule and describe why it should be reform. • Describe recommendations for reform.
SBA Office of Advocacy • SBA Office of Advocacy requesting nominations of Federal rules in need of review and reform. • Top 10 rules will nominated by small businesses will be transmitted to appropriate federal agencies for review and reform. • Purpose is to streamline outdated and ineffective regulations. NASA Mission • To pioneer the future in space exploration, scientific discovery, and aeronautics research. • With the NASA mission shifting from shuttle to exploration the opportunities for prime contracting with small business will probably decline during the early research and development phases. • The shuttle program is a mature program which provides opportunities to qualified small business to be both prime and subcontractors.
