Serving the local community • What value will a Healthy Living Pharmacy (HLP) add to your local community? • What services do you believe the public want access to from an HLP in your area? • As an HLP, how will your relationship change with your local community? • What is it about the pharmacy you work in that is similar to the HLP? • How is your pharmacy different to a HLP?

The Healthy Living Pharmacy Team • How do you think your work role would have to change to work in an HLP? • What is the role of a pharmacist/technician/Medicines Counter Assistant in an HLP? • How would you see a Healthy Living Champion working within your HLP? • What characteristics do you think a Healthy Living Champion should have? • Would you be interested in becoming a Healthy Living Champion or do you know someone who would in your pharmacy?

Perceptions of Healthy Living Pharmacy • The public and healthcare professionals have a view of what pharmacy currently does; how do you think this will need to change to establish HLP? • What will need to change in the way you think about your own pharmacy becoming a HLP? • What do you think may be the barriers to change for you as an individual? • Changing the way we all think about pharmacy will be important to establish HLP; what else do you think is needed to help change our expectations?
4. Skills and knowledge needed for Healthy Living Pharmacy • Using the right person for the right task is about getting the skill mix right. Describe a team within an HLP and the mix of skills. Who is doing what? • Great teamwork has been critical to success with delivery of local enhanced services; how would you improve your teamwork and what support would you need? • Could you do this from within your own pharmacy or would you want help from LPC/PCT? What support do you need? • What new skills will a pharmacist working within an HLP need?

Acting as a Healthy Living Pharmacy • What can the public expect to see/hear/feel from an HLP and the team that work within it? • What activities could you do to take HLP out to the public? • What, if anything, would be different about how an HLP works with other healthcare professionals, as compared to a traditional pharmacy? • How do you and your team act when working within an HLP? How is that different to now?
