PURPOSE • Established by City Council on February 5, 1991. • Advises Council on matters pertaining to recycling and solid waste management. • Provides assessment of current and future disposal and waste reduction needs of the community for the purpose of Solid Waste program planning. • Assists in monitoring City’s achievement of State-mandated goals and related reporting requirements.

  3. FY 2015-2016 Work Plan Goals • Promote Single-Use Carry-Out Bag Ban - Accomplished • Pursue an expanded Polystyrene Ban (EPS) • Review of AB1826 (Organics Recycling)

  4. FY 2014-2015 Accomplishments • Review Solid Waste Request for Proposal (RFP) • Review Long-Term Trash Load Reduction Plan required by the Municipal Storm Water Permit

  5. Recommendation • Approve Recycling and Source Reduction Advisory Commission’s 2015-2016 Work Plan.
