  2. ADAPTATION PROCESS • Main Steps • Political Definition: Regional Law considering the V&A assessments results into planing process and budget allocation in prioritized sectors and areas. Educational sector is in its way to include include CC in the scholar curricula • 2. Two Track approach: • - immediate actions • - medium term actions aiming integration into sustanaible development strategies, plans and programs.

Adaptation Strategy Proposal 2005 - 2015 VISION: In 2015, the urban and rural population en Piura´s river basin, their cities, activities and institutions has been adapted and are less vulnerable to CC effects and climate variability, contributing to the sustainability of the regional development process. [1]Piura´s river basin includes the coastal area of Sechura Bay.

Adaptation Strategy Proposal 2005 - 2015 Strategic Lines • Promote and develop sensibilization activities, information and involvement of local actors (stakeholders) toward a regional adaptation process • Mainstream the Adaptation Strategy in the regional Strategic Planning System including the local level • Promote and develop scientific, technological, socioeconomic research about V&A • Permanent action at the national and international level to positionate Piura as an important space for technical and international cooperation on CC issues
