Piers TongePrincipal, Middle East & Asia • Piers Tonge leads the SBC team in Asia-Pacific. He has been working in the energy industry in the Middle East and Asia for the last 14 years, and for 6 years in consulting. He joined SBC from Arthur D. Little where he was a Senior Manager in the Energy Practice, based in Singapore. • Piers has significant experience leading large consulting engagements, including: • Corporate Strategy for an Asian conglomerate with oil, gas and power interests • Strategy and Transformation for an Indonesian energy group with producing assets • Transformation of a Korean oil company • Asian Upstream Strategies for US and European E+P firms • Asian LNG market entry strategies for Super majors • Multiple Asian gas market and negotiation support assignments Piers started his career working on seismic crews in the Middle East. He then worked as the Asian Editor for the oil industry publications Petroleum Argus and Petroleum Intelligence Weekly. Piers holds a BSc (Honours) in Geology from University of London and an MSc in Shipping, Trade and Finance from the City University Business School. He is a member of the SPE and SEAPEX. 1
Bruce DelteilPrincipal, Middle East & Asia • Bruce is a Principal in the SBC Asia-Pacific Team. Located in Jakarta, Indonesia, he has almost 10 years of experience in the Asia-Pacific Region and 6 in Consulting. Bruce used to be a Senior Consultant at PricewaterhouseCoopers Consulting and a Senior Manager/Industry Leader at Andersen Business Consulting. • Bruce’s past engagements include: • Design and Reorganization of a US Oil & Gas Major Supply Chain (Organization Design, Strategy and E-Procurement implementation) • Corporate Strategy Assignment for an Asian Oil & Gas National Oil Company • LPG Marketing Strategy & Planning for an Asian Oil & Gas National Oil Company Before Consulting, Bruce was Project Manager and Strategy Developer at the Elf Group (prior to the merger with TotalFina) in charge of the regional strategy of the Petrochemical activities, based in Singapore and Bangkok. Bruce graduated from the French Business School ESCP-EAP (MBA Program) with a major in Strategy and completed a Asian Strategic Management Certificate at the Asian Institute Of Technology, Bangkok, Thailand. 2
Dale Hardcastle Manager, Middle East & Asia Dale Hardcastle is a Manager with the Singapore office and acts as champion for SBC’s Asset Portfolio Optimization & Risk Management (APO) offering in the Middle East and Asia Pacific. Dale has 10 years of industry experience in the Asia Pacific region, and was formerly a Manager with Arthur D. Little’s Energy Practice. He possesses significant experience leading a wide range of assignments for clients in the energy, gas and power, and marine sectors. He has assisted clients across the energy value chain from upstream to refining to retail and gas & power. • Dale’s recent engagements include: • For an Indonesian upstream conglomerate, he led a team to devise a new corporate and asset portfolio strategy and designed a new organization structure to prepare for its IPO • For a SEA investor group, he led a due diligence and negotiation team to support the acquistion of a several upstream assets in Kazakhstan, Indonesia and the Middle East • For an oil services company, he evaluated new market entry opportunities in Australasia Prior to ADL, Dale was regional head of energy advisors Fesharaki Associates and the Asian head of Bloomberg’s Energy Service. He graduated with a B.A. in Economics from George Washington University & studied energy policy and economics at Georgetown University. 3
Ian Angell Manager, Middle East & Asia • Ian Angell is a Manager with SBC’s Singapore office and leads the Health, Safety and Environment offering in the Middle East and Asia region. Previously a Manager with Arthur D. Little’s Energy Practice, Ian has eight years of consulting experience with ADL and Ernst & Young with expertise in utilities, engineering and environmental services focused on strategic planning, performance improvement, and implementation of growth strategies for regional petroleum, petrochemical, and utility players. • A sample of Ian’s recent and relevant engagements include: • Development of a “go-global” strategy for an ASEAN-based utility and maintenance services provider to exploit a global niche in the provision of outsourced services to the petrochemical sector • Project management of a due diligence review of a Kazak-based, Canadian owned energy firm • Management of a merger between to create the largest outsourced engineering provider in Malaysia • Managed numerous strategic portfolio reviews in conglomerate and capital intensive industries Prior to joining ADL, Ian developed a practical understanding of the realities of implementing strategy as a shareholder and CEO of a number of SMEs, some of which served the upstream energy sector. Ian also brings practical policy experience resulting from his role as a policy advisor to the Minister of Environment where he was instrumental in the review of a number of energy mega-projects. Ian has extensive knowledge of Asia since first arriving in Singapore in 1987 and as a result of his experience in marketing Canadian commodity chemicals to 14 countries in the Region. He holds an MBA from the National University of Singapore and a B.Comm in Finance from the University of Saskatchewan, Canada. 4
Jessica Tay Consultant, Middle East & Asia • Jessica Tay is a Consultant with SBC’s Singapore office and is responsible for the Human Resources Management market offerings in Middle East and Asia. Previously a consultant with Arthur D. Little’s Energy Practice, Jessica has 3 years consulting experience, with strong capabilities in corporate strategy, change management and industry analysis and additional recent assignments in change management, due diligence, and portfolio analysis. • Jessica’s recent engagements include: • Organization restructuring and change management assignments in Asian companies and government organizations • Multiple market entry and industry analysis for regional upstream operators in Indonesia • Due diligence and portfolio analysis of upstream assets for a SEA investor group Jessica holds a Masters Degree in Environmental Engineering from Stanford University and an Honors Degree in Chemical and Environmental Engineering from the University of Toronto. She is also fluent in Mandarin. 5
Amy LongConsultant, Middle East & Asia • Amy Long is a Consultant with SBC’s Singapore office. Previously an Analyst with Arthur D. Little, Ms. Long has 1 year of consulting experience, with expertise in industry analysis, change management, and business portfolio rationalisation in Malaysian and Singaporean conglomerates. • Ms Long’s recent engagements include: • Industry analysis for offshore E&P technology, 3PL logistics, haulage, and stevedoring • Corporate strategy for Singaporean and Malaysian conglomerates • Change management for a Malaysian former state-owned enterprise • Product demand modeling for an oil supermajor Ms Long graduated with a Bachelor of Arts (Honours and Distinction) in International Relations from Stanford University. Ms Long is also proficient in Mandarin and French. 6
Fiona SeahExecutive Assistant, Middle East & Asia • Fiona Seah is the Executive Assistant to the Schlumberger Business Consulting Team in Asia Pacific. She has been working in the consulting industry for the past 6 years and spent the last 3 years assisting the Director of Energy and and Process industry and his team in Arthur D. Little. • Besides providing administrative support to the professional staff, Fiona also contributes to various internal efforts like: • Research • Knowledge Management • Marketing & Communications • Office/HR Management Fiona started her career with Singapore Airlines. She has a wealth of experience working with people from various parts of the world and understanding diverse cultures. Fenny ArieshantySupport, Middle East & Asia • Fenny is a Consulting Support Staff/Junior Consultant for the SBC Team in Jakarta. She worked previously as a Junior Consultant for Andersen Business Consulting and Ernst & Young Consulting in Jakarta. As a member of the Change Enablement Team, she was involved in all phases of projects to ensure effective Change Enablement activities and deliveries (conducting change readiness assessment; developing and delivering communication plan,and facilitating training). • Delivered Change Enablement module of a major ERP implementation for an Asian Oil & Gas independent player in Indonesia • Support Consulting Staff for a IT Transformation project for an Indonesian major Telecommunication Player Fenny holds a diploma in Mass Communication from Western Michigan University, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and followed numerous Change Enablement training sessions. 8
