Motivations • MIP6 WG is tackling bootstrapping problem • What if MN knows neither home agent address nor home subnet prefix • One solution: Obtain this information via DHCP • Already this is specified for Mobile IPv4: • RFC2132: Option 68 for HA info. • draft-ietf-dhc-mipadvert-opt-02.txt for FA info. - IETF 60 -

  7. Specific Operation • Search a proper HA address based on MNid DHCPserver • 1. Send DHCPv6 request for CoA • MNid sub-opt [heejin@samsung.com] • DHCP option request option *@ kt.co.kr – a::b *@ samsung.com - c::d *@ sk.co.kr - e::f Home network • 3. Send DHCPv6 reply for CoA • HNInf sub-opt [c::d] HAs • Home Registration MN c::d - IETF 60 -

Considerations • It is assumed that the DHCP server has some mechanism to know the requested Mobile IPv6 info. • Static configuration • draft-chowdhury-mip6-bootstrap-radius-00 + draft-ietf-dhc-agentopt-radius-07 • The specifics of these mechanisms are outside the scope ofthis draft. - IETF 60 -
