  1. Symbols of Logic -LOGIC- • Math's logic is considered the science of reasoning and demonstration. Logic is especially important in mathematics and philosophy, but is also used on our dally routine without even noticing.

  3. A simple statement is one that does not contain any other statement as a part. We will use the lower-case letters, p, q, r, ..., as symbols for simple statements. • Simple statements : p ‘’p is true’’ assertion ~p ‘’p is false’’ negation Ex.: p: Sun is a star ( T )~p: Sun isn’t a star ( F )In conclusion two denies equals to an affirmation. Ex: ~(~p) = p .

  4. A truth table is a complete list of the possible truth values of a statement. • A truth table is a mathematical tableused in logicspecifically in connection with Boolean algebra, boolean functions, and propositional calculus. .
