  2. Slide One Coral Bleaching Water pollution causes damages like Coral Bleaching. By looking at the picture , stating the obvious, The Coral bleaching is happening due to the amount of water pollution us humans are creating by the actions we take during our everyday life, without thinking about the consequences.

  3. Water Pollution Slide Two • What is water pollution? : Water pollution is the contamination of water bodies (e.g. lakes, rivers, oceans, aquifers and groundwater), very often by human activities. • occurs when pollutants (particles, chemicals or substances that make water contaminated) are discharged directly or indirectly into water bodies without enough treatment to get rid of harmful compounds. Pollutants get into water mainly by human causes or factors. • Water pollution is the second most imperative environmental concern along with air pollution.

  4. Humans? • Us humans tend to dump solid wastes and litter in rivers, lakes and oceans. Littering items include cardboard, Styrofoam, aluminum, plastic and glass. • We are the cause of global warming as well, which causes the increase of water temperature, that affects the water species.

  5. Water can be polluted in several ways. These ways can be intentional or unintentional. Intentional ways would be dumping waste into a body of water. Unintentional would when rain washed fertilizer or types of sediment into the water. • Example: Coral Bleaching; the result from the loss of the coral’s symbiotic algea. • Coral bleaching causes the increase of sea water temperature, pollution etc.

  6. As it was said on the first slide, water pollution is the second most imperative environmental concern. • It’s a big issue because Water pollution kills. It kills the fish and all living beings that lives in the water. If all the water life is dead so will much of humans food source will die too.

  7. Conclusion • Summarizing everything, water pollution is one concern we should slowly but work on surely. Educating yourself into knowing exactly what water pollution is, researching ways you can help either prevent further long term damages or do something for the short term damages. If water species don’t survive, living human beings wont make it. It’s that important.
