WHAT IS PERTINENT FOR A CALL TAKER/DISPATCHER? • Determine what criteria is needed for entry level positions (dispatch) and then breakdown each of the classes into what they have to offer and then agree on whether they stay in the original curriculum or not. • For example just an idea…Are we losing good people/applicants by doing introductory typing tests. We are willing to teach them everything else, why can’t we teach them to type too. Is 40wpm typing a necessity for a good calltaker/dispatcher? • Non-agency specific, very generic, basic, and essential skills of a call-taker.
