CNIT 101 NETWORKING PROJECT Team One
Team Members • Christian Penas • Henry Baba • Juan Benavides • Kelvin Chen • Kenji Snow Jr. • Kevin Brown • SharieCanja • Steve Salazar
TEAM I – Network Consultants • Our team advises and builds networks for businesses both large and small. • Our mission is to provide our clients with the best custom networks for their organization. • Our team established networks for the following businesses • A National Organization’s Annual Meeting • A Major Law firm • A Small Law Firm • A Venture Capital Company
Client #1 – National Organization • A National organization, which held its annual meeting at San Francisco in MosconeCenter. • There were several hundred people in attendance, many of who used laptops and other Wi-Fi enabled devices. • We set up a Virtual Private Network at the organization’s headquarters and utilize the wireless network available at the SFMC. • Since the Moscone Center has Wi-Fi available for us, plus it’s secure it uses encryption to give maximum security.
Client #2 - Major San Francisco Law Firm A major San Francisco law firm that relocated to a brand new high-rise building downtown. Our team set up a server based network using the Fiber Optic Connection already installed in the new high-rise building.
Client #3 – Small Law Firm • We set up a network for a small law firm that relocated to a very old Victorian building in the Mission district. • The two attorneys and legal secretary specialize in criminal law, so their data must to be very secure. • Our team decided using the existing cables on the premises to setup a peer to peer network. • To setup the computers and peripherals we used a modem from the local cable company and a wireless router. • For security we used Microsoft Security Essentials
Client #4 – Paolo Capitale • Setting up a server for over 120 employees between continents, communicating between san francisco, rome and london • Our solution uses a satellite connection with a Domain server. • Satellite is chosen because it is cheaper than submarine cable and meets the need for communication over continents. • Using a domain based server allows for ease of maintenance over the server regardless of distance.
