Other Notes • Adding contacts on your desktop version of Lync is the key to success with using Lync 2013 for Android. • This was tested using a Samsung Galaxy Note 2 using Android 4.1.2 otherwise known as Jellybean. (I personally recommend this device for any FLVS Instructor looking for a phone/tablet/phablet that positions you to instruct while mobile. • During conversations participants may leave the conversation. They haven’t really left – it’s a connection thing. • The video quality is best when you are connected to Wi-Fi or have a 4G connection running on both ends. • VoIP Calls do not connect to land lines of phone numbers not associated with Lync (Just like Skype where the user has to have a phone number associated with their username). • Lync will keep you logged in on your phone even when you leave the program. You can sign out from Lync using the Status Tab and selecting a Status. • This tutorial may or may not be beneficial to iOS6 users.
