Read pages 85 – 98 Answer the following questions in your group and write down your answers in your notebook. • As you look at "The Matron" think about what makes a character a believable villain and discuss why "the matron" is or is not a well-developed character or believable villain. • 1. Look at the last line in “Homesickness.” Do you think young Roald Dahl is sincere? Why or why not? If you finish then read pages 99 -108 and answer the following question. • Write a detailed description of Roald Dahl's mother based on her portrayal in “A Drive in the Motor Car.” Helpful Definitions Villain – An evil person or character who tries to hurt other people because they truly enjoy it. Sincere – Being honest and truthful; truly meaning what you say (even if it doesn’t end up being true in the end, you mean it.) Portrayal – How someone is described. What their actions and words say about them as a person.
