The HiPArt project • Foster a collaboration between software developers and artists • Emphasis on making very high performance computing, communications, and graphics resources available to the art community • To date, projects have involved building virtual environments for the ImmersaDesk and for the Access Grid
Chronology • 1997 - ImmersaDesk was installed at SCV • 1997 - B.U. was connected to the high speed network • 1998 - First showing of ArtWorld using DAFFIE at Alliance ‘98 • 1999 - First showing of Spirited Ruins during the Boston Cyberarts Festival 1999 • 1999 - Access Grid was installed • 2001 - Gallery on the Grid was shown on the Access Grid during the Boston Cyberarts Festival
