  1. A Guide to Use Ready-Mix Cement Plaster Ready-mixed cement plasters are the best alternatives to traditional plasters because they offer plenty of benefits. Like conventional plasters, they are also versatile. You can apply them for internal and external areas and on horizontal and vertical planes and even on uneven or textured surfaces. Aside from this, ready-mixed cement plasters also create stronger, smoother, and more durable based surfaces as they have a higher compressive and tensile strength. That's because they come pre-mixed. Therefore, you won't have to worry about the consistency of quality. Many construction companies and even DIY home renovators are switching to ready-mixed plasters because of its many benefits. But the real reason why they are popular is that they ensure speedy application. You can complete your construction or small project quickly. Preparation: The methods and steps on preparing ready-mix cement plaster for application vary from brand to brand. Generally, you only need to add and mix water to the mix at the site. Then, the plaster is ready to make solid structures, joint blocks, or make models. But to ensure the best results, the amount of water must be according to the manufacturer's recommendation. Application: Applying conventional and ready-mixed cement plaster is practically the same. Prior to application, you must ensure that the surface is clean, free from oil, grease, and paint. Dampen the wall so that the cement slurry and plaster will stick on the surface. Apply cement slurry, then the plaster. You should throw the plaster while the slurry is wet. Make sure to do levelling using appropriate tools. If you need to coat for the second time, create grooving on the existing coat first. This will provide a good grip to the second coat of plaster. How often and how long curing will depend on the brand of ready-mix cement plaster. In some brands, this is no longer needed since their product is self- curing. Safety Precaution: To ensure safety on the site, always wear appropriate safety goggles and gloves while working. Wash skin with water immediately if it made contact with the cement plaster.
