Where we’re at now New roles: moving image as springboard to or culmination of task New genres to exploit (mash-ups, visual poetry, new “silent movies”...) New sites & tools for video exploitation and creation
Where we’re at now • New means of instruction (blended, flipped, MOOC?, “Plan Ceibal”) • New classroom shapes (learner or teacher projected video?) • New literacies emerging (transmedia, information, remix…)
Re-design • “An approach of re-design is about constructing new ideas, artefacts and approaches – it is a forward-facing proactive stance that does not critique others’ work but makes its own contribution”. Grant, Lyndsay in “Digital Literacies”; Dudeney, Hockly, Pegrum, 2013, (37)
Literacies GuntherKressquoted in “Digital Literacies”; Hockly et al 2013, (37)
Media literacy programs need to be updated and married to filmmaking classes. There is no better way to critically appraise the message of others than to speak one own’s message.
