  2. The Big Bang • Most astronauts believe that the big bang began 14 billion years ago. At That time the earth was in a thin bubble at the size of a pinhead. • After 300,000 years the earth had cooled down about 3000 degrees.

  3. In the beginning • Earth is only planet we know to have life. • Studies of ancient rocks show that life began 3,000,000 million years ago. • No one knows how life began on earth

  4. Black Holes • Black Holes are the strangest objects in the universe. A Black Hole does not have a surface like a star or a planet instead it is a region of space were matter has collapsed in on itself. • Black Holes cannot be seen.

  5. The Birth of the galaxies We cannot see what happened 3000 years ago. As Million years pass the dense material because they had more gravity. New stars were being born at the rate of ten times higher than in the present day.
