Profitable Inventory Control Systems, Inc. – PICS After an initial data import from whatever source you have your data stored (except for on paper), the Item Master is your way of adding and editing all your items. The General tab allows you to assign a UPC Number, define the item to an Item Group or Item Type, associate an image with the item, define the unit of measure you wish to use with the item, and identify the item as requiring a lot or serial number. The General tab will also let you assign a bill of materials to an item you wish to set up as a kit.

  8. Profitable Inventory Control Systems, Inc. – PICS The second tab on the Item Master is the Vendor tab. Here a user can manage the vendor item numbers. Vendors and associated item numbers can be added at time of purchase for those who use our purchase order module.

Here a user can manage the reorder points and reorder quantities if the reorder point is met. The goal is to keep your inventory outside of the reorder areas, however the safety guard you have are several reports showing you items within the reorder area along with the specified reorder amount.

Every item can have multiple pricing structures based on associated quantities. You can define your item costs as well. Each time the item is purchased from a vendor the cost is recorded. If a purchase order is placed for an item not purchased from the vendor, the default cost is pulled in which can then be changed if need be.

  11. Profitable Inventory Control Systems, Inc. – PICS The fifth tab on the Item Master is the inventory tab. Here a user can view inventory levels by warehouse and bin location. You can view stock by choosing the Location pulldown window or by clicking on the Inventory Details button.

Profitable Inventory Control Systems, Inc. – PICS The screens within VICSQL are easy to use even for someone who knows nothing about inventory control… The Transaction Screen allows you to perform all your receiving, transferring, issuing and inventory adjustments for any location and from any computer on the network.

Each transaction is identified by a transaction#, transaction type, and all other aspects of every transaction. By clicking on a transaction and clicking Undo below, will undo a transaction yet show a record of the undo.

  14. Profitable Inventory Control Systems, Inc. – PICS The VICSQL Order Entry Screen allows for orders to be entered, picked, packed and shipped to your customers. All reports, including purchase orders and invoices can be exported to 3rd party accounting packages.

  15. Profitable Inventory Control Systems, Inc. – PICS When an item or kit is added to Order Entry, VICSQL remembers the last price to that customer by item number. Here we see a kit that was ordered and it’s associated bill of materials automatically populates the order entry screen.

  18. Profitable Inventory Control Systems, Inc. – PICS The VICSQL Purchase Order Screen enables users to purchase from their vendors through a similar interface to order entry. Based on the vendor you choose, their vendor codes will appear on the purchase order. Again, all purchase orders can be exported to accounting.

The screen on the left shows the choices from the Transactions Menu. Select and start scanning! Define the location and bin you are receiving to once then begin scanning UPCs and quantities into the bin.
