  14. Homework • Monday-Thursday • READING-Read for 20 minutes. • SPELLING-Completed in the BLUE journal and returned daily. Assignments are listed on the front of the journal. • MATH-Completed in the *GREEN* journal and returned daily. Assignments are listed on the monthly calendar in their journal.

  16. SAT10 2nd Graders will take the Stanford Achievement Test April 23-25, 2012. This assessment measures the students’ reading and math performance. Scores are typically reported at the end of the school year.

Laurel Woods is on the “Road to Excellence” SCHOOL RULES Be Respectful, Be Responsible, Be Safe STOPLIGHT SYSTEM BLUE-Super behavior(5 clicks) GREEN-Meeting behavioral expectation(3 clicks) YELLOW-Received a warning(1 click) RED-Warning and other intervention or negative consequence(0 clicks) School-wide plan is guided by PBIS–Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports. Look for information sheet in Friday folders.

  18. Laurel Woods is on the “Road to Excellence” As students demonstrate expected behaviors, they earn “clicks” on their click cards. Clicks are traded in weekly for prizes.   19. Friday Folders • Distributed every Friday. • A communication piece for notices, information from the office (like the “Dolphin Digest”), and completed classwork. • Reviewed by parents and returned on Monday. Please help your child with this responsibility!

  21. Illness and Absence • Please call the school if you know your child will be absent. • Send a note to your child’s teacher the day they return to the classroom.

  22. Reminders • Breakfast (served daily) -$1.75 • Emergency lunch money-$2.50 • Reduced lunch - $0.40 • Reduced breakfast- $0.30 • Milk -$0.50 • Snack-$0.60

  23. Reminders • Birthdays-we love to celebrate but no food please due to HCPSS policy. • Star student posters should be completed and returned to school. • We welcome you to our classrooms as volunteers and guests. Please remember to sign in at the front office.
