  2. About the Book • It is a book about friendship and sharing and how it makes you feel good.

  3. Activities • Make a frieze of the Rainbow Fish • Use fingerpaints and a brush and make the fish shape. • Add glitter to several scales of the Rainbow Fish. • Discuss the values of sharing and being nice with the students. • Make stuffed paper Rainbow Fish puppet.

  4. Animal Unit • You can bring in a fish from the market and examine the scales, fins, gills etc. • Compare the fish to other animals.

  5. Language • Discuss what an adjective is. • Look back through the book and point out adjectives. • Brainstorm and think up other adjectives.

  6. Writing Have students write on a paper something they could share with someone to make them happy.

  7. Color Unit Draw and paint pictures of fish using and mixing the primary colors.
