  4. Human Environment Interaction (H.E.I.) • How humans adapt to their surrounding environment. • Roads, bridges, structures (i.e.-homes, schools, grocery stores)

  5. Movement • Transportation of people, goods, and ideas… • Foods, cars, language, dances, music, etc.

  6. Region • Geographic area displaying unity. • climate, landforms, gov’t., language, vegetation, industry.

  7. Latitude and Longitude Understanding the Lines

  8. Latitude (Parallels) • Lines-East to West • Measure distance North to South • 0-90 degrees • 0 degrees= EQUATOR-divides N & S Hemispheres • 23.5 degrees N=Tropic of Cancer • 23.5 degrees S= Tropic of Capricorn

  9. Longitude (Meridians) • Lines- North to South • Meet at Poles • Measure distance East & West • 0-180 degrees • 0 degrees = Prime Meridian Divides E&W Hemispheres • 180 degrees = International Date Line (WEST)
