The stats • Australia spends $140 billion (10% of GDP) on health care, 74% more than a decade ago • GDP grew by 46% over the same period • Health workforce costs around $90 billion annually Demand and costs will continue to increase • by 2050 25% of Australians will be over 65 years of age • Health inflation will grow faster than CPI • More & more expensive services per person
