Absence Policy • If you know you will be missing a lab for a valid reason (athletics, family emergency, health issues), let me know in advance with proper paperwork and I will send an assignment or allow you to make it up in another section. • Non-valid reasons (such as sleeping in, or wearing inappropriate lab attire) is unacceptable and labs cannot be made up without my permission. • You will AUTOMATICALLY FAIL the lab IF YOU MISS 2 labs. • If the school is closed for snow days....don't come to lab.
Honor Code • Follow GMU's Honor Code Policy • You cheat or plagiarize, you get a 0 AND will get sent to the honor committee.
Academic Help.... • Get the help you need SOONER than LATER. • Go to GTA Office Hours....you should be able to ask any of the lab TA's for help even if I'm not available. • DON'T DO YOUR LABS THE NIGHT BEFORE...it never ends well. • If you are having problems with the lab section or even your class section, ask me! I'm there to help .... ...BUT YOU HAVE TO ASK!!!!!
Do before next lab... • Look at my website and add yourself to be notified when I put in any changes https://chem212s2012.pbworks.com • Do an excel refresher with the assignments I put on the website • Read pg 121-126 in blue lab manual • start writing the purpose equipment/materials and procedure and a blank data table • start solving the practice problems
