  2. Camouflage Polar bears’ white fur blends in with the ice and snow and hides it from predators.

  3. Claws to catch prey Polar bears use its claws to catch prey and fight other. Also it uses the claws for defense. Polar bears mostly use claws for killing prey and protection.

  4. Polar bear’s thick pads Helps the bear swim in cold water and walk on ice.

  5. Hollow fur A polar bear’s fur takes in air, helping the bear stay afloat in the freezing water. Fur camouflages and acts like a float.

  6. Black skin Helps heat the bear in these cold conditions. It also helps with better heat retention.

  7. Small round ears Prevents water from going into the bears’ ears. Have large eardrums for hearing.

  8. Stiff legs Use stiff and strong legs to swim long distances in water. Can catch prey on or in water.
