You should know about wet procedure location

Hospital Electrical System can become the difference between life and death for some patients. Several important documents including two from the National Fire Protection Association — NFPA 70: National Electrical Code (NEC) and NFPA 99: Health Care Facilities Code have been designed to regulate electrical systems in various health care facilities across USA. According to Article 6.3.2.2.8.2, NFPA 99 (2012 edition) — aka the “Health Care Facilities Code”, “Operating rooms shall be considered to be a wet procedure location, unless a risk assessment conducted by the health care governing body determines otherwise.” This means that operating rooms shall be provided with special protection against electric shock unless a risk assessment proves otherwise. In other words, wet location is an area in a patient care room where a procedure is performed that is normally subjected to wet conditions while patients are present, including standing fluids on the floor or drenching of the work area.
