User Management and Identity • Uses Active Directory for Authentication and Authorization • User created has username & password • Password Policy • Users can be standard user or Administrator user • Built-in “Administrator” account is disabled • Unified logon across all access areas • Optional Federation with cloud services
Connecting Clients • Connection to SBS 2011 Essentials can be done by the end user using a web page: • .NET framework is installed(if necessary) • Users enters their SBS username and password • Option to move existing local settings and data* • Provide computer description • Option to enable computer to wake up for client backups *Requires Windows Pro SKU
Remote Web Access Remote Web Access is the new name for SBS 2008 RWW Provides secure remote connections to: • Shared Folders • Computers • Links
Health Monitoring and Alerts • Helps customers monitor the security status of their network • Target events to customer and/or VAP • 3 severity levels for the events (informational, warning, critical) • Provide custom actions for addressing, if appropriate • Essentials & Standard look and feel is different, but have similar functionality
