Aim & Purpose The aim of this unit is to develop a learners under -standing and knowledge of the roles, responsibilities, skills and techniques of a sports coach and how to apply them whilst coaching and/or leading sports sessions. Learning Outcomes: Know the roles, responsibilities and skills of sports coaches Know the techniques used by coaches to improve the performance of athletes Be able to plan a sports coaching session Be able to deliver and review a sports coaching session.

Student Task In small groups identify as many roles as you can of a sports coach. The coach can be somebody you know, your coach or just a generic sports coach.
