Anticipatory set • On note taker sheet: • List as many of the Math/ELA shifts you can think of… • OR • What do you think are some of the Math/ELA instructional shifts with the new curriculum?
Jigsaw • Count off in 3s • Read assigned Math shift and ELA shift • Take notes on note taker • Discuss notes and select one person to share out to whole group • Summarize each shift on note-taker – everyone writing!
reflection • Think about your current lesson plans, what instructional shifts have you already incorporated? What instructional strategies have you used to do this? Explain on note-taker paper.
Independent practice • Start to: • Develop a lesson plan incorporating one instructional shift using scope and sequence as a guide.
Exit slip • 1. What shift do you plan to incorporate into your lesson plan? • 2. What scope and sequence and target standard are you using as your focus for the lesson plan? • 3. What strategies/resources might you use to make the lesson plan come to life?
