  3. Introductory Comments • What do you want to learn in this course? • How do you want to learn? • “You learn best that which you teach yourself… and each other.”

  4. Purpose of the Capstone • The purpose of this capstone course is to integrate the theories and concepts you learned in the four foundation courses of the EMM program to gain insight into the intersection of business and engineering.

  5. Course Requirements • Each member of the class must engage actively in the class discussions. (25%) • Write two executive memos. (40%) • Research a term project on the topic of your choice. (35%)

  10. Guest Speakers • September 29: Mike Masterson is an entrepreneur and venture investor. He is a COE alum in chemical engineering with an MS from the University of Colorado. • November 17: Dave Spieler is managing director of Duff and Phelps in Boston. He is a COE alum in civil engineering with an MBA from the Tuck School at Dartmouth.
