  2. Mfina Program, semester 1 In the first semester we build the foundations for the following specialization. All four courses in the first semester are mandatory and common across the two tracks (Corporate Finance or Investment Management). The courses are 4317 - Portfolio Choice and Asset Pricing 4318- Fixed Income and Derivatives Markets 4319 – Corporate Finance 3310 - Accounting and Financial Statements Analysis or 3301 - Financial Accounting The course 3310 is not open to students with a BSc specialization in Accounting and Financial Management from SSE or with equivalent background (minimum 30 ECTS in Accounting and Financial Management). These students will instead take the MSc course 3301 - Financial Accounting.

MfinaProgram, Semesters 2 - 4 • No compulsorycourses • Take 8 courses (60 ECTS in total) • At least 4 coreelectives in chosen specialization • Remaining 4 coursescan be otherfinancecourses or non-financecourses • Check prerequisites & eligibility (Other MSc programs have a different structure) • Write master thesis (30 ECTS) • In chosen specialization (recommended not required) (Separate information meeting in the spring)

Core Electives – Minimum 4 / 8 CORPORATE FINANCE • International Financial Management • Quantitative Methods in Corporate Finance • M&A: Financial Aspects • Corporate Transition and Restructuring • Venture Capital & Private Equity • Banking and Financial Intermediation • Financial Stability and Regulation INVESTMENT MANAGEMENT • International Financial Management • Quantitative Modelling of Asset Prices • Behavioural Finance and Trading • Risk Management • Investment Strategies • Professional Seminar in Investment Management • Financial Stability and Regulation

Rules • You ABSOLUTELY have to register for either • 4351 - Corporate Finance or • 4352 - Investment Management • It is NOT possible to take both tracks, you MUST specialize • Yes, it is possible to change track (once) • During the registration period for 3rd semester courses • You must pass all four compulsory 1st semester courses to graduate

Rules (Cont’d) • Students who go abroad for one semester must • take at least 3 core electives of one track at SSE • can replace 4th core elective with a course taken abroad in that area (CF or IM) • choice of the “replacement core elective” has to be approved in advance by the department • Students who take Executive Trainee Module must take four core electives (of one track) in 2nd semester.

  7. Rules (Cont’d) • Students who spend the 2nd year at Bocconi must • in the 2nd semester choose four finance electives, and at least one has to be a quantitative course. The list includes: • Quantitative Modelling of Asset Prices • International Financial Management • Risk Management • Behavioural Finance • M&A: Financial Aspects • Corporate Transition and Restructuring • At Bocconi, students have to take five electives, each being worth 6 ECTS: • Financial Institution and Markets Law • Risk Management • 2 CF or 2 IM courses, depending on chosen track at SSE • 1- 2 free choices

Recommendations • Stay at SSE during the whole MSc program (unless you get into the Double Degree program) • Take at least one of the two quantitative methods courses in 2nd Semester • Focus primarily on finance courses or courses from related fieldssuch as accounting • Write your master’s thesis in the 4th semester in the chosen specialization
