RAD needs to develop Employment services We have recruited an Employment, Skills and Transition Manager We are now supporting clients in Essex in applying for jobs (and improving “employability”) …Since August 2013 we have supported ten people, two of whom have secured employment! www.royaldeaf.org.uk
RAD needs to develop Employment services We are working with mainstream employment services; as part of the Work Programme. We are providing Deaf Awareness training to employers. www.royaldeaf.org.uk
Deaf people need more “employability” skills, training and development • We have provided workshops and training courses: • Driving theory workshops • CV writing • Job application processes and interview techniques • Access to Work and employment • Presentation skills www.royaldeaf.org.uk
You liked the ‘one click’ video call to the Deaf Law Centre We have renewed our lease for the webcam You asked us to promote the Deaf Law Centre at more Deaf Clubs across the U.K. Clubs we have visited include: Leicester, Derby, Gloucester, Liverpool, Cardiff, Swansea and Caerphilly www.royaldeaf.org.uk
You asked for correspondence from the Deaf Law Centre to be written in plain English We have introduced an internal guide that ensures all of our correspondence is written in plain English. The feedback has been positive. You gave feedback on how quickly the Deaf Law Centre replies to e-mails We remain committed to maintaining regular contact with our clients and ensuring that e-mails are responded to quickly www.royaldeaf.org.uk
The interpreter feedback forms are a pain to fill in! We have had face: face meetings with more clients – and are looking at other ways of making giving feedback easier www.royaldeaf.org.uk
