Agenda • Improved Visualization in RapidResponse • Widget and Dashboard Authoring • Treemap Authoring • Linking for Drill Down Capabilities • Q &A
Dashboards • Dashboards are a new resource type. They display a selection of Widgets • Dashboard Authoring is a simple process. Should be made available to general users • The users can drag and drop widgets in the dashboard to get their preferred display • Widgets must be shared in order for them to be available to be added in a dashboard • When authoring a public dashboard, be sure to make changes in Design Mode. Otherwise the changes are stored in the author’s user setting only
Widgets • Widgets are a new resource type. They are only visualized from within a dashboard • Widget authors can create worksheet or text widgets • Worksheet widgets can use a standard worksheet, chart, or combo
Treemaps • Created using a source worksheet. The source must be in the same workbook • The source worksheet must have Group By or Hierarchy columns • If hierarchy columns are used, then “each level in the hierarchy” must be selected • There must be at least two data columns (not Group By) defined. • At least one for Size • At least one for Color • Other data columns can be set as measures but not as dimensions. These will appear in the tooltip only
Linking • The destination workbook must be set in the Linked Workbooks pane in the Advanced workbook property
Linking (for Widgets) • The mapping of the destination workbook/worksheet and variables is done through the Drill-to-Details in the source worksheet Group tab
Linking (for Treemaps) • The mapping of the destination workbook/worksheet and variables is done through the Drill-to-Details in the source worksheet Measures section
