There should always be a citation to help you track down the theory used.
Sometime the theory is from another discipline but the authors explain why it is relevant to THIS research – a student may to have to do this step.
Use the FIND feature to search within the article (do NOT truncate with asterisk!) Try theor / or framework / or conceptual / or perspective
Sometimes the theory was mentioned earlier, but not necessarily labeled. In other words, sometimes it is clearly stated, other times it is inferred.
