Every Family has a story: Your story begins with the family you grew up in. Like it or not, your family contributed to who you are…
Into wild animals Or Maybe…
Having BIG hair Or…
Perhaps a little scary Maybe you didn’t seem to fit in…
Or maybe you did… Your family might have been…
Extroverts Or just blending in… But in any case we have all felt like this kid…
The fact is, opposites attract: • Take two individuals • Two separate family backgrounds • Add some of life’s baggage • BLEND them together and it sometimes equals disaster • Why? • Everyone has an opinion on what makes a marriage work…
Some say the perfect Marriage is: • One man/one woman • Two individuals who love each other • One Marriage for one lifetime • The men rule/women serve • 50/50 Contributions by each partner
Some say the main ingredient in a marriage is: • Love/feeling loved • Commitment • Intimacy (physical/spiritual) • Friendship • Both partners active in the relationship—giving • The list goes on and on
Why do we have these statistics? • 40-50%of marriages will end in divorce • 75% of second marriages will end in divorce • More than 75% of third and subsequent marriages will end in divorce
Is there a main ingredient that will make a marriage Woohoo instead of ho-hum?
Many couples: • Worry, fret, toil and work so hard to build a healthy home • Wish for peace and joy only to find it elusive and temporary • Try to do all the right things—conferences, books, methods and plans • Blame each other and say “If only”
Unless the Lord builds the house, they labor in vain who build it; unless the Lord guards the city the watchman stays awake in vain. Psalm 127:1 Jesus said “but seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness and all these things shall be added to you.”Matthew 6:33
Is there a main ingredient that will make a marriage Woohoo? That Main Ingredient is GOD!
The goal for a marriage is to blend two lives into one: “Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh”Genesis 2:24
God at work in your life can bring The Right Blend in your marriage!
