  4. ELISHA THE PROPHET 2 KINGS 2:19-22 First act as God’s prophet was purifying the water. 2 KINGS 2:23-25 What could possibly be the purpose of this? A lesson of trusting Gods outcomes for the mature and a lesson of seriousness for the immature attackers. Curse= galal = be swift, slight, trifling, or of little account.

  8. ELISHA THE PROPHET 2 KINGS 4:1-7 Elisha hears the devastating story of a widow who can’t pay her bills. He wants to help her and asks her what resources she has. All she has is a jar of oil. Elisha gives her instructions on how God will miraculously multiply. All the vessels she brings will be filled and they can pay off their debts and live off the leftovers. God’s supply would be as large as her faith and obedience without greediness.

  9. ELISHA THE PROPHET 2 KINGS 4:8-17 Rich old lady wants to bless Elisha as he came and went. Elisha wants to express his thankfulness in action. Gehazi brings attention to her desire for children. Elijah promises her a child. She gets a child!

  13. ELISHA THE PROPHET 2 KINGS 4:38-41 Elisha faces a famine and asks Gehazi to make some delicious stew for his friends. One person brought some wild herbs and gourds from the field to add as an extra ingredient. As they eat they cry out, “Oh Elisha, this is poison stew!” Elisha throws some flour in the pot and it’s the antidote. Analogy- Faith & obedience.

  14. ELISHA THE PROPHET 2 KINGS 4:42-44 Unidentified man from Baal-Shalisha brings Elisha his first fruits of harvest. 20 loaves 20 ears of grain This was to try to feed 100 men. Elisha tells Gehazi to feed the men with it. Gehazi is hesitant. Elisha confidently tells him to feed the men. Gehaziobeys. God multiplies the food!

ELISHA THE PROPHET 2 KINGS 4:18-37 Rich old ladies son died  She goes on a journey to find Elisha and all the way she is telling herself “All is well.” She falls at the prophets feet and Elisha is curious to what has happened, because he hasn’t seen it happen. Elisha gives Gehazi strict instructions on how to go raise the boy to life. Gehazi goes and does everything perfect but the boy stays dead.

  16. ELISHA THE PROPHET 2 KINGS 4:18-37 Gehazi returns to Elisha with the bad news and Elisha goes to the boy. Elisha stretches himself out on the dead child a couple times and prays and the boy comes back to life. Sneezing 7 times. Mothers faith was successfully tested. NOT because of the outcome but because of the journey.

  20. ELISHA THE PROPHET 2 KINGS 8:1,2 Elisha gives the woman and her son bad news about a 7 year famine. 2 KINGS 6:1-7 Prophet school expanding its walls. They are cutting down trees for lumber at the Jordan and an axe head flew off and sunk into the Jordan. Elisha performs a miracle of God to make the axe head float to the surface.

  21. ELISHA THE PROPHET 2 KINGS 8:16,17 Ahab’s son is Joram (Jehoram) Jehoshaphat’s son is Joram (Jehoram), co-regent. 2 KINGS 3:4-9 Moabite King Mesha is rebelling because Ahab is dead. King Joram seeks King Jehoshaphat and the King of Edom for help. The run out of food and water.

  22. ELISHA THE PROPHET 2 KINGS 3:10-20 King Joram think they are going to die Jehoshaphat asks if a prophet is around they could talk to God through. Elisha gives them word that God is not interested in Joram or Edom but for Jehoshaphat’s sake God will rescue them and provide a way to victory. All the riverbeds are dried up. God will supernaturally fill them with water without a storm.

  23. ELISHA THE PROPHET 2 KINGS 3:21-27 Moabites get up for war and see the water as blood and think the alliance of Israel, Judah, and Edom killed each other. Moabites go into camp passively to collect spoils and are attacked by a well watered army. They went through Moab and filled in it’s water sources. Misha, King of Moab countered with 700 swordsmen but failed. Mishasacrifices his son to the god Kemosh and then wrathfully attacked enemies.

  27. ELISHA THE PROPHET 2 CHRONICLES 22:1 King Jehoshaphat dies. Jehoram takes over. Kills his brothers. Jehoram walked in the ways of Ahab, married Ahab’s daughter. God was not pleased with this but kept his promise to David and didn’t destroy his house. (2 Chron 21:6,7,11) Mysterious letter from Elijah arrives to King Jehoram. 2 CHRONICLES 21:12-15
