Ideas for RP Success • RP Menu • Special Events • All Day Technical Conference • Tours of RP Funded Projects
Send out a list of RP projects in your area AND the region with your RP Menu
Special Events • Use ASHRAE Promos for Special Events • Call Patricia if you need some • Create your own! • T-shirts • Koozies • Coolers
Tips for a Successful Tech Conference • Needs to be all day -minimum of 6 pdh’s • The date is the most important piece that will make/break your conference. Be cognizant of holidays, PE exams, local industry “holidays”, monthly meetings, and MOST important- other industry conferences (i.e. BOMA, USGBC, etc.) • Use a committee- you need all of the differing thoughts/processes/brainstorming to attract a broader crowd • Keep the fundamental programs, but change the rest- make it technically challenging
Rocky Mtn’s Tech Conference • Friday in April – scheduled with/around the local BOMA and USGBC conferences, PE Exam, and Easter • Same location each year- draw a following • 7 pdh’s (6 seminars + 1 lunch keynote speaker from Society) • Vendor exhibit booths • $175/person (cheapest 7 pdh’s in town) • Last year= 300+ attendees (typically 250) • Raise $41K in profit last year
Tours • Treat your donors as clients. • Spend time with them like you would your client- UTILIZE YOUR RP TEAM for this part • If they feel valued, they will value you and your position as RP chair. • People want to see where their money goes • Take an afternoon to put together a tour with your prospective “client”
