THE 2’s • Example: 30, 42, 24, 76, 98, • Must be an even number • Number must end in a 0, 2, 4, 6, or 8
THE 3’s • Example: 36 • Add the digits of the number: 3 + 6 = 9 • Take the sum of the digits and divide by 3. 9 / 3 = 3 • If the number is a whole number, then the original number is divisible by 3
THE 6’s • Example: 18 • The number must pass the 2’s check • The number must also pass the 3’s check • If it passes both, then the number is divisible by 6
THE 9’s • Example: 18 • Add the digits of the number: 1 + 8 = 9 • Take the sum of the digits and divide by 9. 9 / 9 = 1 • If the number is a whole number, then the original number is divisible by 9
THE 5’s • Example: 2,550 or 455 • The number must end in a 0 or a 5 in order to be divisible by 5.
THE 10’s • Any number greater than 0 and ends with a 0 is divisible by 10.
