Potential Art History Candidates: • Must be entering 11th or 12 grade • Enjoy looking at artwork and visiting museums. • Like studying history & cultures - from ancient times to present - sociology and psychology • Are good at analyzing, interpreting and making judgments. • Are strong visual learners. • Are committed, serious students capable of working at an AP level pace and ability. • In AP Art History we will: • - Learn about art, architecture, and sculpture from ancient civilization to the present. • Investigate cultures and art from around the world. • Discover the context and meaning behind the art, making connections between history and art. Learn to analyze, understand and talk about art. • Hear engaging lectures, watch videos, work in groups, use technology to complete research, and play interactive games to learn about and understand art.
