ABOUT US The OCAP group is highly specialized in designing, producing and selling a wide range of chassis mechanical parts: suspension joints, track control arms, silent-blocks, tie rod ends, steering rods and other components concerning the steering and suspension systems generally applied to vehicles equipped with steering wheels. OCAP structure and markets have constantly grown over the years, thus transforming the original single entity into a leading company managing a group of units operating at an international level. Following a continuous improvement approach, OCAP has achieved excellent performances by consolidating partnerships with well-known manufacturers belonging to the automotive, trucks, earth moving machines and agricultural sectors. Thanks to its technologically advanced R&D, Engineering and Testing Departments, the OCAP Group competitive advantages can be identified with its high specialization level, its flexibility and its co-design activity, which means its ability to offer a complete service for the product development and to produce components that satisfy the most sophisticated customer requirements.

3. PROFILE OCAP is an independent family-owned company. Founded in 1975 by Ivano Giordano, OCAP has rapidly become an international Group, with three production plants. Today the Group is fully owned and managed by Giordano family members. OCAP is a global steering and suspension parts supplier, offering the highest standards for quality and customers satisfaction both in the vehicle original equipment, and in aftermarket sector. R & D Since innovation is one of the main areas of competitive advantage, OCAP constantly strengthens its R&D activity as well as its own portfolio of innovative technologies aimed at strengthening its position of manufacturer of high-technology components. OCAP R&D Department monitors in primis the company itself in order to optimize working procedures, improve production technologies, thus increasing its competitiveness by performing the necessary innovations. It is focused on the transposition of new concepts and intuitions into successful applications by means of a continuous interaction between the identification of market chances and the development of technical knowhow. For this purpose the reference sectors are regularly analized to develop innovative components, processes and products, to improve performances of existing products, to reduce the development and implementation costs. The experimental status of the new products can be autonomously tested at the R&D centre of Valperga. It is provided with sophisticated test benches able to check the complex of the steering and suspension system, simulating road and environmental conditions

8. DESIGN OCAP is a reference point in the design, industrialization and production of components for the steering, suspension and antiroll systems, offering innovative solutions for passenger cars, commercial vehicles, trucks and buses, tractors and earth-moving machines and special vehicles. OCAP designers, oriented towards product innovation and competitiveness, contribute to develop and manage the above mentioned types of components, applying cutting edge project management methodologies. Supported by an excellent technical and scientific background, including the whole range of competences useful to applied research and technological progress, OCAP technicians are constantly trained in the use of the most important tools for CAD-3D design and FEM-FEA analyses. Their training also includes the knowledge of the techniques of production and organization which can be used to strengthen the product competitiveness in an internationally oriented perspective. Capacity of international design to be at the customers’ side wherever they can be located. A total commitment to develop even a very special product in order to fulfill all the customer’s requirements.

9. LABORATORY & TESTING • In Valperga plant , there is the Testing laboratory, which stands in 200 m2. The benches designed by OCAP or by specialised producers are able to run fatigue tests to verify the structural components, or wear tests to evaluate the life of the ball joints. Here is a short list: • - Corner MTS 329 (4 axles), to test a complete corner suspension, reproducing the road profile actions • Wear MTS bench (4 axles) , connected to the climatic cell. 11. SUSTAINABILITY The environmental awareness has increased during last decades and OCAP efforts in this direction are evident, constant and concrete. The ISO 14001 certification effectively represents the achievement of a first important goal. What is in most cases common to all the families is the presence on the various components of one or more ball joints, either integrated or non. OFF- HIGHWAY The range of OCAP products destined to the tractors and earth-moving machines market can be divided into two main families: components for the suspension system and components for the steering system. What is in most cases common to both families is the presence on the various components of one or more ball joints, either integrated or non. OCAP core business is indeed the design and production of ball joints in compliance with the technical specifications of the single manufacturers of tractors and earth-moving machines or with internationally recognized norms. In particular, with reference to this specific sector and to the application type, the solutions developed by OCAP require the use of joints with spheres whose diameter varies from 27 to 90 mm, using bearings realized in plastic, steel, self-lubricating and heterogeneous material. OCAP designs and produces fixed and adjustable tie rods , straight or bent, with tube or bar connection elements with steel or cast iron and the different components which allow the mechanical connection between the steering cylinder and the wheels of the vehicle, mounted on rigid axles or independent suspensions. The wide range of tie rods includes parts equipped with ball joints or with elastic rubber joints, usually referred to as silentblock.

OFF- HIGHWAY • OCAP designs and produces hot-forged steel track control arms and cast iron arms equipped with the relevant ball joints which allow the connection to the wheel hub carrier and with silentblock, which ensure the connection to the vehicle chassis. Moreover, in the last decade, the necessity to transmit to the ground torques from always more powerful engines, to increase the maximum speed on public roads and improve the comfort of the cabin, has supported the development and introduction of front suspensions with independent wheels, which replace the traditional rigid axles. SPECIAL VEHICLES OCAP core business is the design and production of ball joints in compliance with the technical specifications of the single manufacturers of self-propelled vehicles or with internationally recognized norms. The components thus designed and produced find their application not only in the field of passenger cars, commercial vehicles, trucks and buses, tractors and earth-moving machines, but also in that of special vehicles and wherever the presence of ball joints is required. In the course of time OCAP has developed steering and suspension products for race cars (both for track and rally competitions), mini cars, electric cars, quads, motor sleights, military vehicles, trailers, motorcycles and motor-scooters. OCAP also realized special applications for the railway and oil sectors.
