The idea was conceived by a team of young Swazis who have a strong passion for jazz and soul music. The idea is to raise the profile of up and coming Swazi jazz and soul artists in an environment that also promotes Swaziland’s unique areas of tourism. FOR DISCUSSION ONLY. Background (cont…) Our shows are designed to achieve several things: • Serve as a platform to profile and share jazz music in an environment that is relaxed. • Unearth and celebrate local jazz talent. • Show-case the country’s areas of interest. • Provide a platform for networking Pictures from the Luhambo Sunday Jazz & Soul Sessions 1 & 2. The shows drew massive crowds, across generations class and race.

Luhambo Sunday Jazz & Soul Session 1Edladleni African RestaurantSunday 8 April 2012 • An estimated crowd of 500 jazz & soul lovers attended • Crowd included friends, families who wanted a laid-back Sunday afternoon time together & to enjoy good music • The setting reflected the unique feature of the place, an environment that is homely, has a personalised touch, serves traditional Swazi cuisines. • Six Swazi bands performed live music • Sipanela Workshop for Jazz • Soul Friends • Manteza • Simanga • MphoTshabalala • Melody Mayaba • Four Swazi DJs played jazz and soul music

  8. Luhambo Jazz Concepts (Luhambo) proposes to partner with your company as a sponsor of LuhamboJazz & Soul Session 3 to be hosted on Saturday the 1st December 2012 at Maguga Dam Pigg’s Peak. Concept will be themed "Getting to zero: zero new HIV infections”. The aim is to use music to make a social call. This is our way of using the Luhambo Jazz Concepts platform to support and national and global cause on the day. We also want to convince our musicians, as social commentators, to make a social contribution using their art. (see show features) towards fulfilling the objective of this theme as well as other national efforts to roll back the impact of HIV and AIDS in the country.

Show features (Continued) • Messages on the theme to be announced during the promotion of the show and throughout the day by the MC, artists, DJs and all speakers. • Branding on the theme: bottled water, candles, t-shirts & summer hats. • Red and white balloons to decorate all three stages, entrance/exit points • Candle light and moment of silence to bring hope those those living with the virus and to remember those who have died of AIDS. • Public testing by key people and the public as a way of fighting the stigma and fear of testing.   17. Show Logistics SECURITY & EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS 1. SECURITY Private Company: Luhambo has partnership with a security company. To provide patrols and backstage security throughout the show. KOBWA Security: In keeping with internal security policy & provide advice RSP: Police Patrols to manage traffic and boost security. 2. FIRST AID & EMERGENCY SERVICES EMS: Luhambo to make special application for an emergency first-aid personnel and ambulance to be on standby. Maguga Clinic: For serious cases.
