What is Leader? ”In Sweden there are 63 Leader areas, and in each area a Leader Office is the hub for development efforts. Leader is an abbreviation of a French sentence, ”Liasion Entre Actions de Dévelopment de l’Economie Rurale”. This means ”coordination between activities for developing the rural economy”. Leader is part of the Swedish Rural Development Plan 2007-2013, and gets is basic financing from the EU, the Government and the municipalities.” Jordbruksverket
What is Leader Göta älv ? • Coorperation between municipalities of Ale, Lilla Edet, Trollhättan and Vänersborg to develop rural areas. • Creating economic growth and job opportunities through local conditions and initiatives. • Collaboration between public, private and non-profit sectors.

Financing • Each municipality will add 27: - per capita, which means about 1.5 million SEK • State / EU spends about 3.4 million SEK • Private finance about 2.1 million SEK • A total of approximately 7 million annual budget

Terms • 30% private cofinance • Salary counts = actual cost • 175 SEK per hour can count as volunteer work • 30 % private cofinance
Youth Power • Youth, 15-24years old • Should stimulate entrepreneurship / creativity • Support for individuals, groups and youth clubsMax 20 000 SEK • Not ordinary activities • Simplified application
Why Youth Power? Youth Power for those between 15-24 years and who wish to pursue their own projects in their spare time to make it better for himself and other young people to live in the countryside.By simply seeking money from the “Youth Power”, they have a voice in their own daily lives!
Financing • The project is financed with own working hours (voluntary time) as calculated by age:13-15 years 50 SEK / hour16-17 years 120 SEK / hour18 years and over 175 kr / hour • The nonprofit time to reach is 30% of the project budget. The maximum amount SEK 20,000 is self-worked for 6000 kr
