IEP Team Decision Making • Accommodations: • Must be documented on a current IEP. • Must be consistent with the student’s day-to-day instruction. • Are used for students with disabilities to have access to the test. • Allows us to measure the academic content the student has learned with out interference from the disability.
IEP Team Decision Making • The IEP team will determine: • If the student will be taking the WKCE for all content areas required at the specific grade level. • Determine if the student will need accommodations. • Document/describe the accommodations, if any, needed for each of the content areas • Form I-7
IEP Team Planning • Test preparation is for teachers & students: • Teachers • Comfortable with test administration and accommodations • Students • Familiar with test purpose and use of accommodations

The Assessment Accommodations Matrix • Addresses allowable accommodations for: • All students • Students with disabilities (SwDs) and 504 plans • English Language Learners (ELLs) • Wisconsin Alternate Assessment for SwD. • Focus for today is on SwDs

Overview • The use of accommodations.. • Are identified in the student’s IEP • Are pre-planned • Are part of the student’s daily instructional experience • Are only from the approved assessment accommodations matrix unless a request is submitted in writing and approved by DPI
