  2. In the ancient time of India many types of art is created which is with the passing of time become more or less extinct. But one very passionate and popular art manage to stay unlit today and that is Tanjore painting. Even if it faced lot of hardship but still manage to get to this time even though only a handful of people know about it. Those people that have knowledge about Tanjore painting believe that Tanjore painting bring positive energy home.

  3. About the history of Tanjore painting, it is believe that the first Tanjore painting is 40,000 year old. The making place of the painting is Thanjavu, a city in Tamil Nadu, India. Tanjore painting is designed with lot of precious gems of that time and gold foil. For bright colour and the longitivity of the Tanjore painting the artisans had used oil paints in it.

Among the various designs of Tanjore painting the most popular ones are Chettinad and Mysore designs. 1.    Chettinad Tanjore paintings: This kind of designed Tanjore painting is originated in a city of Tamil Nadu named Thanjavur that is lived around about 1600 A.D. While designing this kind of painting the artisan keep the balance with every line of the painting with thick lines, bold colours, appropriate shapes designed. Their colour selection is very appropriate without the question of being out of shape.

The theme of this kind of Tanjore painting are mostly gods and goddesses and these painting have delicate lines, intricate brush strokes and the use of bright vegetable colour and lustrous gold leaf.
