  2. Life of Van Gogh. • Vincent Van Gogh lived more than 115 years ago, and yet his artwork is still altering the way mankind views beauty, persona, individuality, and style in art. His thousands of paintings and drawings have various characteristics that have been copied by thousands and duplicated by none. Van Gogh's unique life has inspired millions to become active in art. In fact, what many people today consider to be the typical“ tortured artist persona" is largely a result of his influence. Perhaps the most impressive aspect is that artists continue to mimic the style that Van Gogh created over one hundred years ago.

  5. The Red Vineyard - 1888 Van Gogh’s use of intense colors reflects the expressionism is the period. His use of primary & secondary colors to simplifies the subject yet has depth. The use of light and shadow within Van Gogh’s art plays an important part in conveying the mood of the work. In this scene the mood is weary. The setting sun at the end of the day with the workers wearily finishing their tasks.

  6. Color Palette The colors that Van Gogh has choose in this painting are warm and cold colors, yet the way he use them is way different than what the colors actually mean. Which makes thins type of color palette really interesting plus making the painting one of his mean fames works of art.

  7. Cafe Terrace - 1888 Van Gogh’s use of intense colors reflects the expressionism is the period. The way he make the cafes outside wanting area worm and inviting. Plus his use of cold & worm colors to simplifies the subject yet has depth. The use of light and shadow within Van Gogh’s art plays an important part in conveying the mood of the work. In this scene the mood is weary. The setting sun at the end of the day with the workers wearily finishing their tasks.

  9. Twelve Sunflowers - 1889 The various paintings of Sunflowers and Vincent van Gogh are a perfect example of this. Not only can one make a mental connection between the artists name and painting but also between the artist and their influence on the development of art through these paintings

Color Palette The colors are vibrant and express emotions typically associated with the life of sunflowers: bright yellows of the full bloom to arid browns of wilting and death; all of the stages woven through these polar opposites are presented. Perhaps this very technique is what draws one into the painting; the fulfillment of seeing all angles of the spectrum of life and in turn reaching a deeper understanding of how all living things are tied together.
