Directions • As discussed in class, there are significant differences between Romanesque Churches and Gothic Churches. • Your assignment is to find me 3 examples of each type of church. • Tell me why each church meets the criteria for each type of Church. Meaning: What makes the church Romanesque or Gothic. Be specific in your answer. • You may use the next 3 slides as your templates. • Be sure to give credit on the last paged marked works cited. Cite all websites used for information and pictures.

  3. Romanesque Gothic This church(Abbey of Saint Philiber) is Romanesque because of its lighting and rounded arch ways. It is located in Tournus. This church (Französische Kirche) is a good example of a gothic church. It has spacious rooms and external flying buttresses. It is located in France.

  4. Romanesque Gothic This church (Cluny Abbey) is obviously Romanesque because of its archways and the well lit rooms and vaults which are present in this church. This church is in Burgundy. This church (Whitby Abbey)is gothic . As you can see it has external flying buttresses and pointed arc ways. It is located in Yorkshire, England

  5. Romanesque Gothic This Church (Peterborough Cathedral) is Romanesque because of the numerous archways and internal buttresses. It can be found in Cambridge shire, England. • This building (The Tintern Abbey) is gothic. It has spacios rooms and external flying buttresses. This Church is located is Whales.
